PSN Privacy Policy Statement

The Philippine Society of Nephrology, Inc., (referred to herein as “PSN”) is an organization of professionals committed to responsible practices concerning collecting, handling, storing, and disseminating online, digital, and electronic information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and otherwise process and protect your personal information the information through the main PSN Website, https://psn.org.ph/ (and each sub-domain associated with this URL) as well as other websites and digital platforms officially operated by the PSN (collectively referred to as “PSN sites”)  in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173) and other applicable laws. We collect personal information such as your full name, contact details and payment information when you use the online payment facility.

The PSN remains committed to providing safe and meaningful online spaces for users of the PSN sites as they view, acquire, transmit, or receive information. The PSN exerts reasonable efforts to assure users that such sites conform to minimum data privacy standards.

In certain PSN sites that gather particular information about users, the latter must be cognizant of the terms and conditions concerning the capture and use of such information. We collect personal information such as your full name, contact details, and payment information when you use the online payment facility. The payment details maybe shared with banks or payment service providers following privacy and security rules.

We will also use personal information that you voluntarily provide to us based on PSN’s legitimate interests in ensuring the delivery of services through the PSN sites (e.g. processing of your payment transactions, verifying your account, responding to online or electronic queries, communicating society-related activities, changes, and updates and ensuring the security of our services. The data that will be collected will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards.  For site administration, site usage, and quality control, we only use non-personally identifiable information in anonymized and aggregated user data format.

As data subject, you have the following rights under the Data Privacy Act of 2012. 1.  to be informed on how your data is collected and processed 2.  to request access to your personal and payment information 3.  to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data 4. to request deletion or blocking of personal data if unlawfully processed 5. To withdraw consent for data collection and processing 6. To obtain and reuse your data across different services and 7. Lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) if you believe your data privacy rights have been violated.

The PSN does not endorse any third-party entity that may have provided links to any of the PSN sites unless such an endorsement is explicitly stated by the PSN leadership. Thus, PSN will not be responsible for the content of linked third-party sites and under no circumstances should be held liable for such links or third-party sites.

The PSN employs reasonable security measures to avoid unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of personal information of users. The PSN, however, acknowledges that no website nor online data transmission process can be 100% secure. To partially address this matter, certain PSN sites or domains may require a user ID and password as an additional layer of security to protect your personal information. Use of the various PSN sites is voluntary, and persons who do not agree with any of our conditions are advised to refrain from accessing services or information found on these sites.

The user is made aware of the nature and purpose of the processing of his or her personal data which includes the risks, entities involved and the identity of persons in processing your online payment. PSN implements measures to ensure that individuals who have access to the personal data will process as such in compliance with the requirements of the Data Privacy Act (Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012) and other applicable laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy Statement may evolve depending on the changes that happen within the organization and the relevance of such policies. As such, the PSN reserves the right to amend this policy statement at any time, for good reason, with such amendments being publicly disclosed on the designated PSN sites.

Please be advised that the PSN Payment Portal (PSN Pay) utilizes the Paymongo Payment Gateway to process online transactions.
